We hear a lot of complaints about drivers not being able to "get out" very far.  Even with
one of these new radios shown above, you have to have good coax and a good antenna.

Once you have the best coax and antenna of your choice, YOU HAVE TO TUNE IT!

Sorry, but that is just a fact.  A new radio cannot perform like it was supposed to without the
SWR's (standing wave ratio) being set.
 
It isn't hard to do and is worth your time.  Use a SWR meter inline and follow the practices
available at FireStik's Technical Library. 

You will be glad you did.  Do it now before the weather really turns bad.
